Resource recovery<\/h2>\n

Wastewater is not just a residual stream but also a source of valuable resources. Many water streams contain nutrients, metals, or organic compounds that can be recovered and reused with the right technologies. Examples include recovering phosphate in the form of struvite for fertiliser, separating cellulose from wastewater for biobased materials, recovering heavy metals such as copper or zinc for industrial applications, and extracting indigo as a dye for the textile sector. By treating wastewater as a resource, we take a decisive step toward a circular water cycle in which waste is prevented and value is preserved.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Evolving challenges<\/h2>\n

The pressure on natural resources and the need to close material loops are making reuse increasingly important. Recovering substances from water streams offers a double benefit: it reduces environmental impact and yields valuable resources that can be reintroduced into the value chain. At the same time, stricter requirements on emissions and discharges are making reuse an increasingly natural component of sustainable water management.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>
